2020 NSW Northern Murray-Darling Basin First Flush Assessment - Independent Panel presents draft report findings and recommendations
When: This webinar was held on Monday, July 27, 2020
Presenters: Independent Panel, Dr Wendy Craik and Mr Greg Claydon
Facilitator: Mr Garry Smith
About the Webinar
In mid-January to early February 2020, the NSW Government put in place water restrictions to manage the first major water flows following rainfall across the northern Murray-Darling Basin after record drought conditions (the ‘first flush’ event). This was the first time NSW managed a first flush event under these conditions. The NSW Government appointed an Independent Panel, Dr Wendy Craik and Mr Greg Claydon, to assess what improvements can be made to better manage events like this in future.
The Independent Panel have released their draft report for the assessment. The Panel will present their key findings and recommendations from their draft report. The community will have an opportunity to listen to the Panel’s update and ask questions.
