About the Webinar
The NSW GOVERNMENT is developing regional water strategies
One of the overarching objectives of regional water strategies is to recognise and protect Aboriginal rights, interests and access to water. Your community is an important part of the conversation in developing your regional water strategy and we hope you can join us.
We have already spoken to some Aboriginal people for the Gwydir, Lachlan and Macquarie-Castlereagh strategies. Two rounds of workshops have been held with Aboriginal people in these regions since December 2019.
These draft regional water strategies are now publicly available and we want to continue the conversation via a two hour live online workshop.
The workshop will cover:
The workshop will be facilitated by an Aboriginal facilitator and there will be the opportunity to ask questions. You can join from your own home using a computer or device.
We will also be holding some regionally-based workshops. COVID-safe practices will be in place including temperature checking and social distancing.
Please note that due to the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to attend a local venue may have to be cancelled at short notice.
If you can’t attend the online or regionally based workshops, you will still be able to give us a call and/or provide a submission. The draft regional water strategies for the Macquarie-Castlereagh, Lachlan and Gwydir regions will be out for public consultation from 25 September 2020 to 13 November 2020.
If you would like to join the online workshop, please register on this page.
For details about the regionally-based workshops, please visit https://www.dpie.nsw.gov.au/regional-water-strategies.
To help us ensure COVID-safe practices please tell us which workshop you would like to attend by emailing email@example.com
