About the Webinar

The ninth Embracing Change webinar is designed to equip NDIS service providers with knowledge, tools and resources to design, implement and evaluate their own Quality Management System aligned with the requirements of the Quality Management Module of the NDIS Practice Standards. 

You will learn about 1) key Quality Management principles, mechanisms and practices as they relate to NDIS psychosocial disability service providers, and 2) the experience of different NDIS service providers in developing and implementing their Quality Management System.  As well as an Interactive Panel Discussion focusing on practical examples, resources and tips.

Hear from:

  • Karen Stace, Senior Manager State & Territory Operations, National Disability Services will speak about the key principles, mechanisms and practices of NDIS Quality Management including data collection from other related quality and safeguarding systems.
  • Colleen Rivers, Quality and Compliance Manager – Community, Anglican Community Services (Anglicare) will speak about Anglicare’s approach to NDIS Quality Management;
  • Ashley Creighton, General Manager of Safeguarding and Practice Excellence, ARUMA (Formerly House With No Steps) will speak about Aruma's approach to Quality Management focusing, amongst others, on metrics and predictive modeling.

Who should attend this webinar?

This webinar is designed to assist two groups of service providers:

  • Psychosocial disability service providers registering or re-registering as a registered NDIS provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission; and
  • Community services and NDIS service providers currently not delivering services to people with psychosocial disability.

Presented by:

Ashley Creighton
Ashley is the General Manager of Safeguarding and Practice Excellence for ARUMA (Formerly House With No Steps). He has been active in practice leadership and contributing to research on Safeguarding Children with disability and delivering inclusive practice frameworks.

Ashley holds a Master’s of Public Health and over 16 years’ experience across a rich mix of health & social care settings in both, government & non-government sectors in Australia & United Kingdom.

Karen Stace
Karen is the Senior Manager for State and Territory Operations with National Disability Services (NDS). Commencing in the NDIS trial site in NSW, Karen has been active in supporting the disability sector understand the implications of and adapt to the new and evolving operating environment bought about by the NDIS and the new quality and safeguarding framework.

Karen has a Master’s of Business Leadership and over 20 years in senior management roles in the community sector, and was the CEO of a disability service prior to joining NDS in 2013. In 2019 she completed a Diploma of Quality Auditing. 

Coleen Rivers
Colleen Rivers is the Quality and Compliance Manager for Community with Anglican Community Services (Anglicare). Colleen supported the mental health team through the initial certification audit with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and is working with the team preparing for their interim audit in February. 

As a registered nurse Colleen’s focus was on education and her post graduate studies were in Adult Education and Organisational Development. Past roles have included working in a small consultancy team providing leadership support to health care services in the not for profit sector, managing the residential aged care services for Anglicare and immediately prior to her current position with Anglicare as the Policy & Consultancy Manager for the peak body for aged care and community services in NSW.
